According to a poll on my instagram, the winning topic for this week is marriage! This Easter is a great opportunity to slow down, take a day, or even an hour to reflect upon your marriage as well as reflecting upon the true meaning of Easter. No matter where you are at in your marriage journey, there will always be trials that you face as a couple. But being intentional and working through these trials is what will shape your marriage. Let's get started!
Plan Quality Time: As obvious as this sounds, it isn't as practical. But it can be! If you have the opportunity to go on a date night, that's great, but if not try waking up 30 minutes earlier and spend that time together before your day starts. You can also do the same before bed! Me and my husband try to do a small date every week, but before bed we always have at least 20 minutes of no phone, quality time reflecting on our day. Plan a special date this week for Easter as just the two of you! This week, Gabe and I went out for ice cream!
2. Reflect on the Meaning of Easter: Take time as a couple to reflect on the significance of Easter and what it means for your relationship. Discuss how the themes of renewal, hope, and redemption can be applied to your marriage.
3. Pray Together: Set aside moments for prayer together, expressing gratitude for each other and asking for guidance and blessings on your marriage. Praying together can deepen your spiritual connection and strengthen your bond.
4. Start a New Tradition: Consider starting a new Easter tradition as a couple, such as preparing a special meal together, going on a nature walk to admire the beauty of spring, or reading Easter-themed devotionals or books together. Get excited about something new together!
5. Forgive and Let Go: Easter is a time of forgiveness and reconciliation. Take this opportunity to let go of past grievances and conflicts, practicing forgiveness and extending grace to each other. Holding onto resentment can hinder growth in your marriage.
It can be hard to balance all the things in life but realizing what really matters and being so intentional with that can make such a difference in your marriage, your family, and your faith. I hope this helps!
